Door Prize Centerpiece - Footloose and Fancy Free:
For special "girl" events, create a centerpiece that doubles as a door
prize, or delivers a certificate to a spa. This design is sure to tickle her fancy
with bath and footcare indulgencies.
 |
|
Step 1: Fill a basket with loosely crumpled packing paper, leaving room for a
cardboard box or foam block that can be securely glued to the base of the basket.
Secure the shoe of bath salts to the block with heavy duty double-sided "red
tape" (for cardboard) or Picky Sticks (for foam). Cover the block/box with shred.
Step 2: Pack a tall decorative vase with spa products, such as loofah slippers,
a massage roller, footbrushes, etc. Put the packed vase in one side of the basket,
wedging packing paper around the vase to keep it securely in place. Pack the Lucky
Chick footcare product in the front of the basket, and tuck in a couple of floral
sprigs. Add a bow and two or more decorative "footsie" cookies.
Step 3: To wrap this basket, pull cello up and over the tallest sturdy product
in the vase. Tie it off there and add a bow of your choice.

Extract from "Baked Goods for Kids" by Howard Riell:
[....] Other companies, like Monaco Baking Company in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.,
market gourmet, hand-decorated cookies and gingerbread houses, as well as cookie
kits and gingerbread house kits. Monaco supplies such big names as Starbucks,
Neiman Marcus, L.L. Bean, Disney Theme Parks and Williams-Sonoma with its
beautifully decorated sugar cookies, which are cello-wrapped and merchandised at
the checkout counters – the best spot for parents to grab them for waiting kids.
According to Philip Moreau, executive director of Monaco Baking Company, the main
buyers of his products are women and children. Not surprising, as many of the
designs are feminine in nature or directly targeted toward children. No matter
the season or the occasion, Monaco has a cookie design for it. Cookie themes range
from fruits, animals, beach, back-to-school, ocean fish and celestial to all the
major holidays and seasons. There are more than 3,000 stock designs in all. If by
chance one of those designs doesn't work for you, Monaco Baking Company also custom
designs cookies (500-piece minimum order). For instance, a coffee cup with a
company logo can be hand-decorated on cookies. |
|
Moreau has also been busy coming up with new products this year, like cookie tins
filled with 30 bite-sized cookies, all fully decorated. For instance, the
Halloween tin contains pumpkin, skeleton, ghost, tomb and spider cookies. For
the winter holiday season, Monaco offers retailers mini edible gingerbread house
ornaments that ship fully assembled and in stackable tubes for point of purchase.
Each ornament has a suggested retail price of $5. Monaco also offers several
styles of fully-assembled and do-it-yourself gingerbread houses, gingerbread
trains and carousels. [....]
